Girl found dead in creek bed
According to the police, Leslie Burke of Perkins residence was found dead after swinging across the creek behind the old Perkins place with the help of an old piece of rope when the rope broke and she fell into the creek. She hit her head on the way down and was therefore unable to swim to safety.
A recent interview revealed that Leslie frequently swung across the creek into the woods with her friend (far right) Jesse Aarons, 10, who went to Lark Creek Elementary with her. It also revealed that Jesse and Leslie never went into the woods without each other, however, Jesse had gone to Washington hence Leslie was alone when she fell into the creek. The wake is held at the Perkins residence. Leslie will be cremated and brought back to where she belong, in Pennsylvania.
